Captain Mike Slane brings a lifetime of hard work, dedication, and passion to the waters of Lake Erie. After spending more than 30 years on the road trucking hazardous materials, Mike retired in 2022 to focus full-time on his true love—fishing. His transition from the highways to the lake was a natural one, as he has spent over two decades learning the rhythms of Lake Erie and perfecting his fishing skills. Today, he channels that experience into guiding anglers and sharing the same waters he knows so well. With over 20 years of local fishing knowledge, Captain Mike has seen every side of Lake Erie—calm mornings, changing weather, and peak fishing seasons. As a USCG Master Captain, he not only understands how to navigate the lake safely but also how to read conditions, track fish movements, and adapt to ensure guests have the best chance of success. His calm, steady approach on the water makes newcomers feel at ease while also earning the respect of seasoned anglers who appreciate fishing with someone who truly knows the lake. What sets Captain Mike apart is his dedication to creating enjoyable fishing experiences for everyone. Whether helping a young angler catch their very first perch or guiding experienced fishermen toward trophy walleye, he takes pride in tailoring each trip to the people on board. His approachable personality, combined with deep knowledge of Lake Erie’s ecosystem, makes time spent with him both educational and memorable.
About the Boat
Fish On!
